2 It's a reasonable size venue, and can hold 180 people. The format of
3 the night was basically a series of short (20 minute) sessions
4 given by the Linux audioconf participants, and others
5 doing cool sound stuff with Linux. Later on
6 in the night there was some more "improvised" jamming.  It
7 provided for some interesting conversation/entertainment.
2The standout tonight was a duo called
     3<a href="http://www.deprogram.net/">Deprogram</a>.
4    who performed some great electronica with live keys and vocals over
5    prerecorded tracks. The backing tracks had been recorded on and were
6    being played back using Ardour running on a Linux laptop.

9    The performance was simply stunning. The fact that Ardour, Jack
10    and other linux software was used in its production and performance
11    is a *huge* validation of what we have been doing all these years.

14    Congratulations to everyone involved in making audio on Linux happen
15    and thanks to Nick and Mary of Deprogram for showing us how its
16    good this stuff actually is.
